About Us

Set up in 2008 by husband and wife team Max and Rebecca Hotopf, Healthcare Europa’s mission is to provide visibility on the European private healthcare and care markets. As well as the newsletter, it also publishes reports and conferences on the sector.

Max is a former national journalist who has written for The Financial Times, The Times and The Guardian. He built up and ran IT Europa through the 1990s, covering the European computer industry, and has written extensively on service industries. He is the author of a book on the management consultancy profession for the Economist.

Rebecca completed the first three years of training to be a doctor at Barts in London, before doing a degree in Medical Sociology. She has recently completed an MSc in Architecture, Energy and Sustainability at London Metropolitan University.
