M&A boom as Italian healthcare service groups move south

Large private operators in Northern Italy are starting to buy in Southern Italy, says Professor Franceso Longo, director of CERGAS, the national body which analyses the Italian healthcare system. Longo also reckons that Italian healthcare is in less of a mess than many outsiders think, with the overall deficit at EUR3bn-4bn, equal to only around 3% of the total healthcare budget.
