Swedish dentist Smile backed by private equity group scope Funds has acquired the Thea chain which doubles its size to sales to SEK250m through 15 clinics. But what is really going on in Swedish dentistry, which is probably a good microcosm for the wider European dental market as the state gradually rolls back coverage?  We talk to Per Rehnberg, the head of Praktikerjanst, by far the largest private dental operator about the market and dissect the Smile/Thea deal.
