New MVZs restrictions will hurt hospitals and labs

Unbelievably, it looks at though the German coalition government will force through laws which will halt the rationalisation of the deeply inefficient German outpatient sector. This will mean that only doctors will be able to own (medizinisches Versorgungszentrum or outpatient medical care centres) This is a bad blow for hospitals seeking to expand into outpatient activities. It will halt consolidation in laboratories and imaging. We assess its likely impact.
