Generale de Sante is all but quitting Italy, selling six of its clinics there.
Ominously, the largest French hospital group won't reveal terms or losses incurred by the sale, merely stating that the six account for €36m, or 2% of annual group sales.
The French group is doing sale and leaseback deals in France, and selling peripheral French operations in a bid to improve its poor profitability.
It will be interesting to eventually find out how expensive quitting Italy has proved to be!
