ECJ unlikely to abolish all French lab restrictions

It looks unlikely that the European Court of Justice will seek to eliminate all the restrictions imposed by the French government on medical laboratories, based on advice issued by the advocate general. This is a disappointment to large lab groups such as Labco and Novescia seeking to rationalize the sector – unless voting restrictions are swept away it will be difficult, perhaps impossible, to float such companies. Meanwhile, the French government has indicated that it will give a breathing space on price cuts.
