Will telehealth and chronic disease management programmes grow fast in Europe?

It has been around 18 months since we last looked at chronic disease management programmes and telehealth. So has the environment changed radically over that period? Are we about to see a surge of activity? Both are areas where there has long been huge interest and hope. The promise is that a combination of CDMPs and telehealth should lead to a dramatic reduction in the cost of serving the chronically ill, who account, according to the World Health Organisation for 86 % of deaths and 77 % of disease burden in Europe. That could open up a market worth billions to the private sector. So how are programmes faring?
