Asklepios to bid for Mediclin

Asklepios, the third largest German acute hospital chain, has said it will make an offer for Mediclin, a quoted reha and hospital group where it already has over 25%. Asklepios, which also has a lot of reha, wants to work more closely with Mediclin by increasing its stake, but has said it doesn't want complete control. Volker Braun at Commerzbank says this is effectively a way for Asklepios to avoid being forced to make a higher priced offer.
