Mediq pays over 12 times EBITA for Assist

Listed Pan-European pharmaceutical and medical technology distributor Mediq has paid €95m for Assist, a big German homecare distributor of medtech products with sales of €70m in 2010. The deal makes it second only to Gesundheit GHD. But has Mediq overpaid? Analysts say it has paid over 12 times EBITA for the business but return on capital employed in the division is a whopping 31%. We investigate.
