New MVZ law hits labs

Lab groups are likely to buy small hospitals to avoid falling foul of the new GKV-Versorgungsstrukturgesetz law in Germany which makes it harder to consolidate MVZs (medizinisches Versorgungszentrum or outpatient care centres). This will pose problems for smaller investors. We look at the first draft of the bill and talk to lawyer Dr. Philipp Graf von Duerckheim at White & Case LLP, who specialises in the sector.
