Turkish patient numbers fall

Patient numbers in the Turkish private hospital sector are down 10-20% year on year, thanks to the recession and a new tax which means the patient has to pay an extra EUR13 a day to use a private hospital, according to Dr Filiz Çevirme, general coordinator at OHSAD, the Turkish association of private hospitals. Profitability has also been badly hit.
